Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - Oakland Raiders running back Michael Bush will undergo surgery to repair his broken left thumb. The procedure is being reported by the Oakland Tribune, which also says that Oakland head coach Tom Cable stated that there is a good possibility that Bush will recover in time for Oakland's season opener against Tennessee on September 12. A two-year veteran, he has totaled 1,010 yards on 218 carries with six touchdowns and has added 36 catches for 267 yards.

Napa Valley, CA (Sports Network) - The Oakland Raiders are expected to place quarterback Charlie Frye on injured reserve, forcing him to miss the entire 2010 season. Frye underwent surgery on his right wrist on Wednesday and is expected to need at least four months to fully recover. NAPA, Calif. (AP) -The Oakland Raiders have placed backup quarterback Charlie Frye on injured reserve with an injured right wrist.

Coach Tom Cable said Thursday that it will take four to five months for Frye to rehabilitate the hurt ligament. Frye underwent surgery earlier this week and will miss the entire season.

Frye started three games for the Raiders last season. He completed 61 percent of his passes for 581 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.
